Curveball – performance platform
Curveball is a regular late night platform for local performers to come to Curve theatre in Leicester and animate the Foyer pre or post show (approx. 6pm pre-show or 10pm for post-show).  Curveballs are scheduled for Friday nights and as of February will have a dedicated space in the Foyer.  We’re looking to programme community groups who need a platform and who fit with our monthly theme.  The theme is usually related to the work in the main house and studio spaces, e.g. February is about stand-up comedy linking to the Comedy Festival; March will be burlesque in order to tie in with Gypsy.  We’re looking for events which have a built-in audience as there is very little marketing around Curveball.  There are drinks offers on the bar and our aim would be to bring as many new people into Curve as possible by making a performance space more accessible to people who aren’t trying to put on a full production but would make use of a stage and an audience. If you are interested in performing, come along to an event and see how it works from Friday 10 or Friday 17 February (all post show). To apply to perform please send a brief summary (or a link) of who you are and what you do to Communications@curvetheatre.co.uk
